GIF · up to 20 MiB per file

Limits & supported formats

ZIP or folder: up to 8 supported images, 40 MiB expanded total. Nested archives and unsupported entries are rejected.

Input: up to 8 files · GIF · 20 MiB each, 40 MiB combined.

Images: up to 2,048 px per side and 400 animation frames.

Output: up to 2,048 px per side, 4,194,304 pixels per frame and 400 frames.

Detailed budgets: 40,000,000 decoded pixels, an estimated 192 MiB working allocation and 64 MiB per ZIP. These estimates help reject large jobs; they do not guarantee a browser process memory peak.

Files are processed one at a time with shared settings. A failed file does not stop the others.

Choose where your GIF is processed

GIFBloom is an option when you want the file to stay on your device. The compressor below runs the same browser-local engine as our home page. Other tasks have their own pages: choose the one that fits the edit rather than expecting one tool to do everything.

Choosing your settings

Ezgif’s single-file optimizer and video converter upload media to servers; its bulk GIF optimizer also runs locally in the browser. Its privacy policy describes automatic file deletion within an hour after the last use. GIFBloom does not upload media, but this does not mean the site has no analytics: see our privacy page for the existing page statistics.

If the result needs another pass

Ezgif may be a better fit for a larger input, more video formats or its specialized GIF optimization and repair options. GIFBloom has browser memory and codec limits, does not offer an equivalent repair suite, and its frame editor edits the sequence and timing rather than painting pixels.

GIF timing note: missing, 0 ms and 10 ms frame delays are read as 100 ms. Other supported delays are retained unless the task changes timing or the frame sequence. Re-encoded animation may therefore differ from a viewer that handles unusually short delays differently.

Good to know

Is GIFBloom affiliated with ezgif?

No. This is an independent comparison, not a partnership or endorsement.

What does browser-local processing mean?

Your media is processed on your device rather than sent to a file-processing server. Processing code or models can still be loaded from the site when needed.

Does ezgif also have batch and target-size tools?

Yes. Both have these features; choose based on the task, input limits and where you want the processing to happen.

What can I do in the compressor here?

Compress GIFs individually or in batches, edit a target size and inspect whether it is reached. For platform presets or frame editing, open the linked tools.
