NEAREST-NEIGHBOR · NO BLUR

Pixel art upscaler

Scale pixel art up 2×, 3× or 4× with nearest-neighbor sampling so every pixel stays a crisp square. No AI smoothing, no blur. Works on PNG, JPG and WebP sprites in your browser.

Limits & supported formats

ZIP or folder: up to 8 supported images, 40 MiB expanded total. Nested archives and unsupported entries are rejected.

Input: up to 8 files · PNG, JPEG, WebP (static) · 20 MiB each, 40 MiB combined.

Static images: up to 2,048 px per side. Animated inputs are not supported here.

Still image output: up to 3,072 px per side and 9,000,000 pixels. No animation is exported.

Larger output is available for PNG/JPEG only: up to 3,072 px per side and 9 million pixels, within the memory estimate. Input, AI and other output formats keep their existing limits. Enlarging an ordinary resize does not recover detail.

Detailed budgets: 40,000,000 decoded pixels, an estimated 192 MiB working allocation and 64 MiB per ZIP. These estimates help reject large jobs; they do not guarantee a browser process memory peak.

Files are processed one at a time with shared settings. A failed file does not stop the others.

How to upscale pixel art without blur

01Add a pixel-art PNG, JPG or WebP

02Choose a whole-number scale like 200%, 300% or 400%

03Preview the sharp result and download a PNG

GIFBloom

Whole-number scales keep square pixels

Normal image resizing blends neighboring pixels, which turns pixel art into soft, smeared edges. Nearest-neighbor sampling copies each source pixel into a block of identical pixels instead, so a 32×32 sprite at 400% becomes a 128×128 image made of clean 4×4 squares. This page opens with nearest-neighbor, upscaling allowed and a 400% scale. Export as PNG to keep exact colors and transparency.

Choosing your settings

Use whole-number scales (200%, 300%, 400%). In-between values such as 150% make some pixels one block wide and others two, which looks uneven. For sizes above 400%, switch off the percentage and type a width that is an exact multiple of the original. JPG output adds compression noise around hard edges, so prefer PNG.

If the result needs another pass

If the result still looks soft, check that sampling is set to nearest-neighbor and that the source was not already blurred. Animated pixel art is a GIF: use the GIF resizer, which has the same nearest-neighbor option and keeps every frame. This is a pixel-exact scaler, not an AI upscaler that invents new detail.

Good to know

How do I upscale pixel art without blurring?

Use nearest-neighbor sampling with a whole-number scale such as 2×, 3× or 4×. This page is set up that way when it opens.

Can I upscale an animated pixel-art GIF?

Yes, with the GIF resizer. Choose nearest-neighbor sampling and allow upscaling; all frames and timing are kept.

Is this an AI upscaler?

No. It enlarges existing pixels exactly and adds no invented detail, which is what pixel art usually needs.

Which format should I download?

PNG. It keeps exact colors and transparency; JPG adds artifacts around sharp pixel edges.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Scaling happens in your browser.
