Limits & supported formats
Input: 1 file · GIF · up to 20 MiB.
Images: up to 2,048 px per side and 400 animation frames.
Output: up to 2,048 px per side, 4,194,304 pixels per frame and 400 frames.
Detailed budgets: 40,000,000 decoded pixels, an estimated 192 MiB working allocation and 64 MiB per ZIP. These estimates help reject large jobs; they do not guarantee a browser process memory peak.

How to flip a GIF
01Add an animated GIF
02Choose horizontal mirror or vertical flip
03Preview and download the flipped GIF
Mirror the picture, keep the timing
A horizontal flip mirrors the GIF left to right, so a character walking right now walks left. A vertical flip turns it upside down. This page opens with a horizontal mirror and no rotation; every frame is flipped the same way and the frame durations and loop setting are kept. You can also add a rotation angle in the same pass.
Choosing your settings
Mirroring also reverses any text in the GIF, so captions become unreadable; add text after flipping instead. To play the animation backwards in time, use Reverse GIF, which changes frame order rather than the picture.
If the result needs another pass
If the result looks rotated rather than mirrored, check that the angle is 0. Very large GIFs may hit the browser memory limit; resize or trim first. For still images use Rotate & Flip Images.
GIF timing note: missing, 0 ms and 10 ms frame delays are read as 100 ms. Other supported delays are retained unless the task changes timing or the frame sequence. Re-encoded animation may therefore differ from a viewer that handles unusually short delays differently.
Good to know
How do I mirror a GIF?
Add the GIF, keep Horizontal selected and download. Every frame is mirrored left to right.
Does flipping change the speed or loop?
No. Frame durations and the loop setting are copied to the new GIF.
What is the difference between flip and reverse?
Flip mirrors the picture. Reverse plays the frames backwards in time.
Can I flip and rotate at once?
Yes. Set an angle together with the flip direction.
Is the GIF uploaded?
No. It is processed in your browser.
