Limits & supported formats

Input: 1 file · GIF · up to 20 MiB.

Images: up to 2,048 px per side and 400 animation frames.

Output: up to 2,048 px per side, 4,194,304 pixels per frame and 400 frames.

Detailed budgets: 40,000,000 decoded pixels, an estimated 192 MiB working allocation and 64 MiB per ZIP. These estimates help reject large jobs; they do not guarantee a browser process memory peak.

Turn the motion around

Reverse a reaction, movement or reveal without editing each picture by hand. There are no timing settings to configure: the frame order reverses and each frame keeps its display duration. Review the full animation before saving.

Choosing your settings

Transparency and the loop setting are carried into the reversed animation. Re-encoding may change colors, and reversing a caption can make its appearance order confusing.

If the result needs another pass

If a pause feels wrong, use Trim to remove unwanted frames or Speed to adjust playback. Keep the original if its forward motion communicates better.

GIF timing note: missing, 0 ms and 10 ms frame delays are read as 100 ms. Other supported delays are retained unless the task changes timing or the frame sequence. Re-encoded animation may therefore differ from a viewer that handles unusually short delays differently.

Good to know

Will reversing change the duration?

The total of the decoded frame delays stays the same. Missing, 0 ms and 10 ms GIF delays are read as 100 ms.

Why does a reversed loop pause at a different moment?

Each pause stays with its picture. A long pause at the end of the original can appear at the beginning of the reversed version.
