Split Image into Tiles
Divide an image into PNG tiles using equal cells or exact horizontal and vertical cut lines.

Limits & supported formats
Input: 1 file · PNG, JPEG, WebP (static) · up to 20 MiB.
Static images: up to 2,048 px per side. Animated inputs are not supported here.
Output: up to 2,048 px per side, 4,194,304 pixels per frame and 400 frames.
Detailed budgets: 40,000,000 decoded pixels, an estimated 192 MiB working allocation and 64 MiB per ZIP. These estimates help reject large jobs; they do not guarantee a browser process memory peak.
Add a file to get started.
Three steps. One moving picture.
01Open the source image and check its dimensions
02Choose an equal-cell grid or enter custom X/Y cut coordinates
03Download the ZIP and check the PNGs; custom cuts also include slices.json
Split Image into Tiles
Choose equal cells for a regular grid, or enter custom X/Y cut coordinates for unequal rectangles. Custom lines override the cell dimensions, gap and count. Coordinates must be integers strictly inside the source: 0 and the image edge are added automatically. Lines are sorted and deduplicated; every rectangle, including edge regions, is saved with its coordinates in slices.json. Sprite boundaries are not detected automatically.
Choosing your settings
Regular grids export only complete cells and skip the configured gaps. Custom cuts export all regions between the cut lines and source edges, with no grid gaps. PNG preserves decoded transparency; this tool does not automatically detect irregular atlas boundaries.
If the result needs another pass
For a grid, check cell dimensions, gap and count. For custom cuts, use integer coordinates greater than 0 and less than the corresponding source width or height; at most 99 values per axis. Reduce the number of slices if the output or ZIP budget is exceeded.
Good to know
Can the slices have different sizes?
Yes. Manual X/Y cut lines create unequal rectangles and override the regular grid. The ZIP includes slices.json with each rectangle’s coordinates and dimensions. This does not automatically detect individual sprites.
How do custom cuts handle the image edges?
Do not enter 0 or the full width or height. The tool adds those edges, sorts and deduplicates the interior integer coordinates, and exports every resulting rectangle. Regular grid mode instead excludes incomplete edge cells.
